Toolmaking & Design

MRT have been designing, manufacturing and running die casting tooling for over 50 years, so we have immense experience in optimising component and tool designs to acheive the best toolmaking results.  We use the latest Solidworks CAD software to support us, and can offer computerised filling and solidification simulation where required. 

We have a small in-house tool room for the manufacture of machining fixtures and tooling modifications.  For major new toolmaking projects we work in close partnership with a tightly managed group of specialist sub-contract toolmakers.  MRT take full responsibility for the design, project managment, and sampling of all the toolmaking.

All new tools are fully sampled and submitted with full dimensional reports, produced in-house at MRT by our engineers using our CNC Co-ordinate Measuring Machines.

We enjoy working closely with our customers on new product development and toolmaking.  By getting MRT involved at an early stage of product conception, we can often make suggestions which can lead to significant savings in tooling and component costs.  If you have a current or future toolmaking project which you wish to discuss on a no-strings basis, please contact us.
